I've been informed by Jim McCormick of the Tom and Jerry Castoffs that Captain Jim Brierley has sadly crossed the bar. Jim had been informed by Keith Duffy that Capt Jim had been in intensive care having contacted pneumonia and was not responding to treatment and sadly lost the fight. Keith stated that Capt Jim had gone off to do 'heavy lifts'.
Rest in Peace Captain Jim - my old shipmate and condolences to the family.
Funeral details will be passed on once known.

Very sad to hear this news.Sailed with him when he was a Cadet.Met up with him after I moved to Australia and he was Master on the Wayfarer., also when he and Elspeth were out here on holiday. One of nature's gentlemen.RIP.

Sad news indeed. First met Jim Brierley when I was a child living in North Wales on my grandfather's farm and Jim was a friend of our neighbours son who had a veg/fruit business. Later on when I sailed with him (2nd/Chief Officer/Master) him not me!! we had a good chinwag about those days!
R. I. P. MR Jim Breiley.
