I joined T&J's in Sept 74. My first trip was on the Linguist. Ian Mitchell was the old man, Derek Skillander, CO, Terry Hunter 2/0, Stan Ellis CE, Steve Slattery 3/E, Kevin Fields 4/E, Ralph Whitaker 6/E, Andy Patterson deck cadet. I loved it with Harrisons where I made 3/O and my last trip was a 9 month sojourn on the Strategist, joining in Japan and paying off in Dubrovnik.
I also sailed with Randy Armstrong and a few of the other boys from the WI's, including Nigel Jardine. All great guys.
Jim Crone unfortunately died on board the Derbyshire when it sank in a typhoon off Japan.
I would love to hear from anyone who sailed with, or met me during some of the most formative and enjoyable years of my life.
David Barclay, Tom Grieg are a couple of cadets from Glasgow, Bryn Jones was another. W.A.C. Gill as well.
