I worked in the Liverpool Communications office for a few years in the '70's. Even then and more now, I thought it an exciting job, the best type - ship-to-shore telexing, waiting hours for connections and the excitment when it happened, sending huge lists for vessel fit-outs and preparing the weekly vessel movement sheet. We weren't forgotten by the sea personnel at Christmas, we received beautiful Japanese calendars and an interesting selection of fruit. Also the Belize Times on a regular basis. We were also invited for tea onboard, I think, the Benefactor. Great memories.
